About The Artist

Born in 1953 in Edmonton Alberta I grew up throwing snowballs and skating on creeks. Summer months were spent at the lake collecting arrowheads and flints, flattening pennies on railroad tracks, and visiting family in farmland Saskatchewan.

The youngest of five I was ten when my parents moved to Victoria where, but for a brief sojourn to Salt Spring Island, I have lived ever since.

In the 80’s I attended the University of Victoria in the BFA programme. I went back in 2010/2011 to attend sculpture and curatorial classes - and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

In the 90’s I attended Camosun College, graduating from the Applied Communication Programme, receiving scholarships for top student and video.

For twelve years I sat on the Board for the Oak Bay High Community Theatre Society where I mentored the students in set painting and design.

I am an avid fan of the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival under the umbrella of which I have for many years volunteered while simultaneously enjoying countless hours of amazing talent in our community. If you have the time and the inclination please try Festival out - as I promise you will be amazed. This Festival offers an unprecedented wide array of performance arts - we live in a blessed place.

I have a gorgeous stepdaughter and two handsome sons, and their delightful partners, who are all fabulously talented in their own way.

We all do what we must and need but with heart and integrity and as individuals together even when apart.

A collage from the 14th International Collage Exhibition and Exchange is in the permanent collection of Aotea Utanganui, the Museum of South Taranaki in New Zealand. ICE 18 is donated to The Verbeke Foundation in Belgium.
