Pictures that tell a story...all of them do. As I have said in the description of other works, I love illustration. I also love abstraction.
When you dream you compile a collage of images with no conscious blueprint and which can be viewed from many angles and directions.
Speaking of 'Pictures of Nothing: Abstract Art Since Pollock' by Kirk Varnedoe in his A W Mellon lecture series: he argued that there is a symbolic language to the abstract as touching and as important as that of representational Art. If you take the time to look and experience and wonder.
This piece is obviously not terribly abstract in its formula but I enjoyed drawing a 'dream' which is in essence abstraction. I mean...where do dreams come from?
