Initiative is an opening concept term in the game of Chess wherein a player makes a move to threaten the opponent in order to have them respond. It is a move that provokes action.
This game of strategy requires dedicated commitment in order to overcome an adversary and a strong belief in the skillset to do so.
Although the participants may or may not be personally agreeable; the victor is the one who has the patience to see the long game and go for it.
