Lessedra: Calliope 1, 2, and 3

Box In Stay Don't The

Calliope in classical mythology was one of the nine Muses - the daughters of Zeus - and translated from the Greek origins means 'beautiful voice'

In the 19th C. a Calliope was a steam powered instrument experienced at Fairs or on Riverboats which gives the name a totally different context, albeit still a musical one.

Words can have a musical quality and like musical notes letters of the alphabet can be grouped together in different formats to create certain sensations and experiences.

The words written at the top can, although jumbled, be quite easily discerned.

This group is my entry for Lessedra 2025/26.

Note: Pi is the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet and the number Pi (which resembles 3 of the great slabs that constitue the circle of Stonehenge) is a circle's ratio of its circumference to its diameter which no matter the size is always a constant irrational (not equal to the ratio of any two whole numbers) figure of approximately 3.14159. Its digits never repeat.

According to Britannica: Pi occurs in various mathematical problems involving the lengths of arcs or other curves, the areas of ellipses, sectors, and other curved surfaces, and the volumes of many solids. It is also used in various formulas of physics and engineering to describe such periodic phenomena as the motion of pendulums, the vibration of strings, and alternating electric currents.
